he Town of Ayer Department of Public Works (DPW), the Awarding Authority, invites SEALED BIDS for 26DPW12 Grove Pond Treatment Plant AIX Media Replacement – 2026 through 2028.Specifications will be available on the Town of Ayer Web Site https://www.ayer.ma.us/bids beginning February 18, 2026.SEALED BIDS, clearly marked, will be received at the Ayer Department of Public Works, 25 Brook Street, Ayer, MA 01432, any time prior to Friday, March 6, 2026 at 2:00 pm at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.The Work consists of removal and replacement of AIX (Anion Exchange Resin) media of one (1) existing AIX vessel at the Grove Pond Water Treatment Plant. All work shall be substantially complete within 90 consecutive calendar days of the date fixed in the Notice to Proceed and fully completed within 120 consecutive calendar days of the date fixed in the Notice to Proceed.The bidding and award of this contract will be under the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30, Section 39M. Complete instructions for filing Bids are included in the Instructions to Bidders. Each General Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid Total for Year 1 – 2026.The successful General Bidder must furnish a fifty percent (50%) Payment Bond with a surety company acceptable to the Owner.No Bidder may withdraw his Bid for a period of sixty (60) days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays after the actual date of the opening of the General Bids. This advertisement does not obligate the Owner for any costs associated with preparing or submitting bids.Minimum wage rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Workforce Development under the provisions of M.G.L, Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project.
