27-0627e5-017 - Staffing Services for Orientation and Mobility Therapists (RFB)

provide Orientation & Mobility (O&M) services and vision rehab therapy for Individualized Education Plan (IEP) services mandated through New York State Part 200 Regulations. The vision agency must provide certified Orientation & Mobility specialists to provide services for existing and new students as per IEP/504 documents throughout the 10-month school year and extended school year (summer). There are approximately 20 students with IEP mandated O & M services. The vision agency must also employ service providers for IEP mandated vision rehab therapy as needed by the district. The local vision agency would need to complete O & M evaluations requested by the Committee on Special Education (CSE).
