NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: Sealed bids will be received by the Board of Directors of the Ankeny Community School District at the District Administration Office at Neveln, 406 SW School Street, Ankeny, Iowa 50023, until 2:00 PM local Iowa time, according to the designated clock in the District Administration Offices, on March 17, 2026, for the 2026 Northview Parking Lot Improvements project. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud after 2:00 PM in the District Administration Cottonwood Conference Room. Plan downloads require the user to register for a free membership at QuestCDN.com A public hearing will be held by the Ankeny School Board of Directors on the proposed contract documents (plans, specifications, and form of contract) and estimated cost for the improvements at its meeting at 6:00 PM Central Time on Monday March 2nd, 2026. A pre-bid meeting will be held by Ankeny Community School District at the District Administration Office at Neveln, 406 SW School Street, Ankeny, Iowa 50023, at 11:00 AM on March 6, 2026. This project includes all materials, equipment, transportation, and labor necessary to complete the improvements. The proposed project includes 6,800 of 6” PCC Pavement, Storm Sewer, Electrical and Lighting, painted pavement markings, construction survey, site restoration, and other miscellaneous work. Sales or use tax shall not be included in the bid. A sales tax exemption certificate will be available for all materials purchased for incorporation in the project. Each successful bidder will be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to 100% of its contract price. Said bond shall be issued by a responsible surety approved by the Owner and shall be guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and save harmless the Owner from claims and damages of any kind caused by failures in materials and construction for a period of two years from and after acceptance of the contract. The guaranteed maintenance period for new paving shall be four years. Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accord with the Instructions to Bidders. Minority and Targeted Small Business participation is encouraged. Bidders shall make a good faith documented effort to encourage the participation of Certified Iowa Targeted Small Business in accordance with the Code of Iowa. By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and/or produced within the State of Iowa, and preference will be given to Iowa domestic labor as provided in the Code of Iowa.
