Purpose of increasing mental health access and reducing disparities for black communities, including black/african american, afro-caribbean, afro-latino, and continental african peoples. Research has shown that black youth face elevated exposure to psychosocial stressors, including systemic racism, community violence, intergenerational trauma, and economic inequity, which contribute to disproportionately high rates of anxiety, depression, and trauma-related symptoms. Culturally grounded, identity-affirming interventions have been shown to enhance resilience, promote emotional regulation, and increase positive racial identity, all of which are key protective factors of mental health.
