Call for Visual Art and Poetry for the Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month Calendar

The Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) is a proud supporter of Los Angeles’s 2026 Asian  American Pacific Islander Heritage Month Celebration . This celebration will promote and  encourage an awareness of the significant contributions made by our City’s Asian Americans and  Pacific Islanders in culture, education, politics, business, technology, and the arts. As part of this celebration, DCA is creating an online comprehensive calendar and cultural guide  again to showcase quality Asian American and Pacific Islander artists from across Los Angeles  and to list in-person and online programming (exhibitions, concerts, special events, lectures, etc.)  related to this annual celebration of Asian American Pacific Islander culture. Our goals are to expose Angelenos to the great works of our local visual and literary artists,  and to make them aware of the exciting online cultural activities happening as part of the  celebration. We also want to encourage their appreciation of LA’s Asian American Pacific  Islander past artistic traditions and today’s modern, contemporary styles. To assist us, we invite you to please submit images of your visual or literary works of art  via email to mwharris@whitleycompany.com . Please only send high-resolution images  (300 DPI or larger) and short works of poetry appropriate for publication. Please include  all credit information with all works submitted. Your work may also appear on DCA's website at  culture.lacity.gov. The deadline for artwork submissions is March 3, 2026. We appreciate your help, and look forward to commemorating Asian American Pacific Islander  heritage and traditions in Los Angeles through this special annual publication.
