2026-LMIG - South Street Widening & Resurfacing

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDDERS Sealed bids for the 2026 LMIG Project – South Street Widening & Resurfacing will be received by Macon County at 121 Sumter St, Oglethorpe, GA 31068, ATTN: County Clerk, until Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. local time. Late bids will not be considered and will not be returned. Bid packages will only be made available at the above address and will not be emailed. The OWNER of the project is Macon County. The ENGINEER for the project is Andrew Johnson, PE of Construction Materials Services, Inc. Project Scope: South Street 2.05 Miles Widening Project from Winchester Road to Will Miller Road (10,825 feet of existing 20 wide pavement to 26 feet wide). The square yard is approximately 31,272 SY. The project consist of Full Depth Reclamation with Portland Cement, 19MM Asphalt Binder Course, 12.5 MM Asphalt Surface Course, pavement markings, and shoulder building with grassing. (The project scope is shown on the plans/cross-sections/maps as prepared by Construction Materials Services, Inc.) Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. The Bid Bond may be in the form of a surety issued bond or cashier’s check made payable to Macon County. The Bid Bond shall be forfeited to Macon County as liquidated damages if the bidder fails to execute the Contract and provide Performance and Payment Bonds within fifteen (15) days after being notified that he has been awarded the Contract. Surety and insurance companies must have an AM Best rating of A-6 or greater, be listed in the Federal Registry of Companies holding Certificates of Authority and Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds, be licensed by the Georgia Insurance Department and the Georgia Secretary of State to do business in the State of Georgia. Each bid must be submitted in a SEALED ENVELOPE, addressed to the OWNER. Each sealed envelope, containing a bid, must be plainly marked on the outside “2026 LMIG Project – South Street Widening & Resurfacing”. If bid is forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the Bid must be enclosed in a separate mailing envelope to the attention of the OWNER at the address given above. Bids may not be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the time and date set for closing, except as allowed by O.C.G.A. Macon County reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive any technicalities.
