Description
Construction of the new 80 mgd Starr WTP consisting of the following Influent Flow Split Box addition. Flocculation/Sedimentation Basins consisting of two parallel trains of 4 stage flocculation followed by two stage circular sedimentation basins. The structure also includes two blowdown pump stations with submersible pumps and a Flash Mix Building housing raw water flow metering, pumps, and chemical injection. Flash Mix Chemical Building housing bulk storage and feed equipment for alum, ferrous sulfate, anionic polymer, and cationic polymer. Two lime silos consisting of pre-fabricated silos, batching, and feed equipment. Filter Complex housing 12 parallel conventional gravity sand/anthracite media filters, an indoor gallery for piping and valves, and two Filter Control Rooms on the deck of the structure. Filter Blower and Electrical Building housing multistage centrifugal blowers and power distribution for adjacent buildings. Filter Chemical Building housing bulk storage and feed equipment for gaseous chlorine and caustic (sodium hydroxide), scrubber equipment, and emergency standby generator. New Fluoride Building housing bulk storage and feed equipment for HFA (hydrofluorosilicic acid). Filter Backwash Pump Station and wetwell housing vertical diffusion vane pumps. Washwater Equalization and Filter-To-Waste Basin structure housing three basins, submersible pumps and valve vault. New Washwater Clarifier and Split Box New Gravity Thickener and Split Box New Flow Holding Basin and Drain Pump Station New Thickened Solids Pump Station housing clarifier and gravity thickener solids pumps and polymer storage and feed equipment. New Operations Building consisting of a process laboratory, control center, server room, state-certified compliance laboratory, break room, assembly room, and offices. Improvements to existing solids treatment including rehabilitation of one washwater clarifier, rehabilitation of two gravity thickeners, construction of one new washwater clarifier, construction of a new washwater clarifier pump station, and new pumping in existing Thickened Sludge Pump Station. Improvements to existing Centrifuge Building including staged demolition and replacement of existing centrifuges, conveyors, and polymer system. Construction of a new Solids Holding Tank with mechanical mixing. New open-top Cake Storage Pad. Expansion of Switching Station 1 and Switching Station 1A. Relocation of Frisco Church Road to the perimeter of the expanded campus site. Site improvements including grading, paving, process piping, chemical ductbanks, potable water, utility water, stormwater improvements, packaged sanitary pump station, septic field, electrical distribution, fiber and communications distribution, site security system, and fencing; see outside link for more detials.
