Description
The City of St. Marys, Georgia is requesting proposals for the adaptive reuse of the former St. Marys Submarine Museum, a historic two-story, 6,400 square foot structure on a 0.11-acre site in the Historic District. The building is located on W. St. Marys Street within walking distance of the riverfront, restaurants, and lodging, and will become available following the museum¿s relocation to the new City Hall. The city¿s waterfront serves as the departure point for Cumberland Island National Seashore, contributing to steady tourist activity in the downtown area. The property is zoned C-1 (Central Business District), permitting a wide range of commercial uses and providing an opportunity for an adaptive reuse project compatible with surrounding development and long-term planning objectives
