LEGAL DESCRIPTION: F008N014E Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 11, 12F008N015E Sections 16, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, 28, 29, 32, 33, 34, 35F009N0014E Sections 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 35, 36REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW), Northern Regional Land Office (NRO), has received a Land Use Permit (LUP) application from DOF to construct a series of firebreaks surrounding the communities of Central and Circle Hot Springs. The firebreaks would be primarily constructed using a tracked skid-steer type vehicle with a drum mulcher attachment. Short segments adjacent to waterbodies and an area west of Circle Hot Springs would be constructed with hand crews as shaded fuel breaks. The fuel breaks total approximately 22 miles long and 50-100 feet wide with mechanized work focused between October through May and hand crews during the summer and fall. There is an additional proposal to potentially lay gravel around the Central landfill to further reduce fire danger.
