Construction Services for Courthouse Remodel

The purpose of this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is to solicit bids through competitive sealed bidding for the purpose of construction work at the historic courthouse complex in Stanardsville from qualified contractors. It is anticipated that one contractor will be selected. The majority of the work will be within the lower courtroom. The work will generally include, but shall not be limited to, labor, equipment, fuel, tools, materials, supervision, and incidentals necessary to provide the timely, safe, and effective execution of the work detailed in this solicitation. Bids are to be inclusive of all costs associated with the work detailed in the scope of work below.The County of Greene seeks sealed bids for construction services at the County’s historic courthouse complex, 85 Stanard St. in Stanardsville.Specific work for the base bid includes, but is not necessarily limited to:Replace all existing can lights with new LED lights and retrofit existing T8s with LED lightsScrape, patch, and paint walls, trim, windows, and doorsReplace all ceiling tiles and repair and replace broken gridReplace all bathroom counters, sinks, partitions, and vent fans, and patch and paint walls and ceilingsReplace all switches, outlets, and coversPaint remaining exterior and replace or repair wrought iron railsReplace all the old green countertops in clerk’s office and judges chamber downstairsPaint and stain wood trim, bench, and the witness standAdd bullet glazing to three exterior windows and mirror tint so others cannot see in (needs a protection in front of the window so no one can walk up to the windows)Bullet proof the judge’s bench with steel plateExtend the three overhangs on the front of the judge’s benchThe Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, fuel, tools, materials, supervision, and incidentals necessary to provide a timely, safe, and effective execution of the work detailed in this solicitation.
