Description

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region 10 has approved and obligated funding for the Port of Port Orford Dock Road Slope Stabilization and Strengthening Advanced Assistance Project submitted under Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (Hazard Mitigation Grant Program-Post Fire) for FM-5394-OR. Dock Road in Port Orford is the only route to and from the Port of Port Orford, and it is vulnerable to landslides, seismic activity, and tsunamis. A geotechnical assessment will be completed to inform the soil and stabilization work for Dock Road, effectively contributing to a reduction of injuries, loss of life, damage, and destruction of property. – from FEMA award letter to Oregon Department of Emergency Management on behalf of the Portof Port Orford.
