Bike Path Resurfacing

Renovate existing trail at lake of the woods forest preserve. Contractor to mill to a minimum depth of 3" and remove material. Millings shall be removed by the contractor. Mill so the finished surface is free from gouges, grooves, and ridges. Contractor shall use water as necessary to minimize airborne dust. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to ensure the road surface is clean and free of dirt, trash, debris and all other substances that would prevent the bonding of the new material to the old before beginning work. Entirety of existing top layer to be milled and final asphalt width to be 10'. One (1) new installation ~20' culvert under parking lot, and one (1) replacement ~27' long culvert under trail with catch basins. Each culvert shall have a steel apron on the discharge end and be corrugated dual-wall HDPE. Area about culvert shall be repaired and properly compacted before resurfacing. Catch basins to be installed by contractor at south ends of culverts. Basin in the parking lot shall withstand impacts of vehicles.
