The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) is an agency of the State of Ohio, responsible for administering the workers’ compensation insurance program in Ohio. Medical Services is responsible for ensuring an effective infrastructure support is in place to facilitate the goal of the Health Partnership Program (HPP) which is to provide prompt, quality, cost-effective healthcare to injured workers facilitating injured workers ability to remain at work or experience an early safe return to work and quality of life. Medical Services in support of section 4121.44 and 4121.441 of the Ohio Revised Code, execute activities of the Health Partnership Program (HPP). The HPP as of March 1, 1997, has been BWC’s system for providing managed care services to injured workers to address the results of an allowed workplace injury.
