ADA-72722 Proposal to Amend a State Airport Land Lease at Kivalina Airport

The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities proposes to change the authorized uses of Lease ADA-72722, Parcel G consisting of approximately 2,500 square feet, at Kivalina Airport. Applicant: Unicom, Inc. (GCI). Annual rent: $625.00 and any other associated fees. Authorized uses: non-aeronautical - Communication equipment placement of a cable landing site (CLS) shelter and associated back-up generators for passive and active telecom equipment located in the CLS shelter; operation of a 56' monopole communications tower. The CLS shelter, back-up generators and 56' monopole communications and associated antennas and associated cabinet equipment platform is in support of improved cell phone and internet service in the region.Written comments must be received by 4:30 p.m., October 20, 2025, after which the Department will determine whether or not to amend the lease.
