LAS 35779 Land Use Permit application for Old Murphy Dome Road Shoulder Work

January 20, 2026Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received a Land Use Permit application for the following:APPLICANT: Fairbanks North Star BoroughPROJECT NAME: LAS 35779GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Approximately 20 miles northwest of Fairbanks, on Old Murphy Dome Road, near the intersection of Spinach Creek Road and Old Murphy Dome Road.LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 35 of Township 2 North, Range 3 West, Fairbanks MeridianREQUESTED ACTIVITY: Fairbanks North Star Borough has requested to modify the slope of the roadside terrain off the north shoulder of Old Murphy Dome Road, near its intersection with Spinach Creek, to help prevent snow drifting on the roadway. Snow accumulation on the roadway can be minimized by contouring the landscape adjacent to the road to encourage passive snow drift mitigation.
