Medical Services for Accomack County Jail

Accomack County is seeking comprehensive inmate medical and mental health services in accordance with the requirements stated herein. Said service shall include, but not be exclusive of, comprehensive medical and mental health services including: physician, nursing staff (all licensed), master’s degree mental health professional, psychiatrist, pharmacy, laboratory services, medical supplies and waste management, utilization management services for all of the outpatient, inpatient and emergency room services who will function as a correctional specific third-party administrator. The proposed solution shall be a comprehensive, health care delivery system at the Accomack County Jail, located at 23323 Wise Ct, Accomac, VA 23301. This facility (the “Jail”) houses both male and female detainees and some sentenced inmates, generally having sentences of less than three months. Over the past 12 months, the average daily population of the Jail has been 110 inmates. The proposal should be based on an average daily population of 110 inmates for the next year. The selected Offeror will be expected to enter into a contract with the County of Accomack. The resultant contract from this RFPwill incorporate by reference this RFP document in its entirety and the successful Offeror’s response to this RFP, as well as any negotiated terms and conditions. Theterm of agreementfor this contract shall be an initial period of two (2) years with three (3) additional one-year renewals possible if mutually agreeable to both parties. The selected Offeror will be expected to work with Accomack County and, specifically Accomack County Jail staff for the services indicated in this RFP.
