Request for Proposals 2026-1000-0125 Delta River West Fuel Break - Phase 2

PURPOSE OF THE RFPThe Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry & Fire Protection, is soliciting proposals for the development of a mechanical fuels treatment approximately two miles west of Delta Junction, Alaska. This project is a critical component of wildfire prevention efforts, aimed at protecting the community and surrounding areas by reducing fuel loads in the region.The scope of work includes creating a mechanically treated, 300-foot-wide linear fuels treatment area. The successful contractor will remove and process all brush, shrubs, and small trees within the designated area, and will be responsible for providing all necessary equipment, qualified operators, and transportation and lodging arrangements to complete the project during the winter season. The state's obligation will commence when the contract is approved by the Commissioner of the Department of Natural resources, or the Commissioner's designee. Upon written notice to the contractor, the state may set a different starting date for the contract.
