NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATIONLAS 35668MATANUSKA ELECTRIC ASSOCIATIONSubject to AS 38.05.850, the Southcentral Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:APPLICANT: MATANUSKA ELECTRIC ASSOCIATION, INC.PROJECT NAME: LAS 35668GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: The access route is located on the Matanuska River floodplain, south-southeast of the Palmer Sewer Treatment Plant and South Brooks Road.LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Sections 16 & 21, Township 17 North, Range 2 East, Seward MeridianREQUESTED ACTIVITY: Applicant Matanuska Electric Association, Inc., is requesting a land use permit for use of heavy equipment on the Matanuska River floodplain to access an existing transmission line for maintenance and emergency repairs on an as-needed basis. The type of equipment may vary but generally consists of a bucket truck, a digger truck, excavator, trailer, and UTVs.PROPOSED DATES OF USE: Start: February 2026 End: January 2031DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: February 19, 2026The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written or emailed comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southcentral Regional Land Office, 550 W. 7th Ave., Suite 900C, Anchorage, AK 99501-3577 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above.
