Request Public CommentFAST ADA Improvements-Fairbanks: 6th and 7th AvenuesState Project Number: NFHWY00962The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is proposing to widen, replace, and/or reestablish sidewalks with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant features along 6th and 7th avenues, between Barnette Street and Cowles Street, in Fairbanks, Alaska. The project also includes new curb ramps, approaches to driveways and their tie-in entrances, curb and gutters, operable part clear spaces (level platforms at signalized crosswalks), new curb inlet box grates to facilitate surface water drainage, and repaving the project roadways.No right-of-way acquisitions will be required to construct this project. However, DOT&PF anticipates that temporary construction easements and/or temporary construction permits would be required.Material sources for this project will be contractor furnished.DOT&PF is currently working on the preliminary engineering design and environmental reviews.
