Description
The 11th Edition of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) Part 3A.05 requires the implementation and continued use of a method that is designed to maintain retroreflectivity of longitudinal pavement markings. The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has chosen the Service Life Based on Historical Data Method as the preferred method for implementation. As such, ODOT has collected retroreflectivity data five times since 2023 at 118 locations across the state comprising over 1350 line-miles of various line types. Now ODOT is seeking a vendor to analyze the historical data using relevant statistical and/or machine learning models to create degradation curves that can be used as the basis for determining service life and replacement schedules of the pavement marking types used by ODOT
