Clocktower Banner Repairs

The City of East Lansing Downtown Management Board (DMB) is seeking professional services to repair two (2) banners that are installed seasonally on the clocktower in Downtown East Lansing May – October.Each banner is 146” X 46” and is made of 15 oz vinyl. Each banner is designed with several pockets that hold interchangeable inserts to promote events taking place throughout the month. Each banner has a total of 19 pockets in the following sizes:One (1) for holding 39” X 8.5” insertsNine (9) for holding 29” X 7” insertsNine (9) for holding 5.5” X 7” insertsAll 19 pockets are currently attached to the banners with a strong adhesive. However, in the summer months, this adhesive fails, causing the inserts to melt into the pockets. This makes it extremely difficult to remove the inserts each month and leaves a residue on all banner inserts. To prepare these banners for the 2026 season, the selected contractor will:Remove all 19 of the existing pockets on each banner.Clean off any residual adhesive on each banner.Sew 19 new pockets onto each vinyl banner in a manner conducive to easily inserting and removing the various inserts.
