Description
The purpose of the proposed Roberts Drive Sidepath Phase I project is to enhance the safety and mobility of pedestrians and cyclists along Roberts Drive with a 12-foot-wide concrete sidepath with a 5-foot-wide landscaped buffer and a minimum of 1 foot back of path buffer on the south/east side of Roberts Drive, extending from Dunwoody Place to Island Ford Parkway. In addition to the sidepath and landscape buffer, the project will include the installation of street trees within the landscaped area to enhance the corridor’s aesthetics and environmental value. PI 0001757 has constructed sidewalks on Roberts Drive over SR 400 bridge. Two midblock pedestrian crossings will also be constructed—one located near Pride Place and the other near the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area – Island Ford Park. These crossings will connect the new sidepath to the existing sidewalk system on the opposite side of Roberts Drive, improving overall pedestrian accessibility and connectivity
