NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATIONLAS 35576OLSON MARINE INCSubject to AS 38.05.850, the Southeast Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:APPLICANT: OLSON MARINE INCPROJECT NAME: LAS 35576GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Tolstoi Bay is located on Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska. The nearest town is Thorne Bay roughly 5 miles northwest.LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 18, Township 72 South, Range 85 East, Copper River MeridianREQUESTED ACTIVITY: Olson Marine, Inc. has requested a 5-year permit for the placement of a commercial mooring buoy in Tolstoi Bay. The buoy is 13 feet in diameter and 10 feet in depth and will be secured to the submerged lands using 3'' stud link chain roughly 450' long and attached to a 25,000 lb. Navy style anchor. The applicant is requesting about 2.5 acres of state land.PROPOSED DATES OF USE: Start: September 1, 2025 End: August 31, 2030DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: August 22, 2025The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southeast Regional Land Office, 400 Willoughby Avenue/PO Box 111020, Juneau, AK 99811-1020 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above.
