32026-00031 RFA Externships for Teachers

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) seeks applications from Texas Local Workforce Development Boards (Boards) and Institutions of Higher Education (IHE) to collaborate with Texas Schools or AEL Providers and employers to provide Externships for Teachers. This program aims to provide Teachers with opportunities to engage on-site with Texas industry partners and learn how lesson plan content is applied in the real world. The Externship will inform Teachers about the skill sets required for a given industry. Teachers will then develop and teach lesson plans that connect classroom content to industry in the real world and workplace. As a result, students will develop an understanding of the academic and technical skills they need to enter the workforce and compete for jobs in their local Texas communities. An Eligible Applicant under this RFA is a) a Texas Local Workforce Development Board or b) an IHE as defined in Section 1.2, Definitions and Acronyms of this Solicitation
