Description

The Town of Wells is accepting proposals for the stabilization of a section along East Wells Road, located near 1249 East Wells Road. Brief summary of the scope of work: The project includes the stabilization of approximately 165-ft of a section of East Wells Road, along the Wells Brook. The stabilization includes a stacked rock wall along Wells Brook, varying in height, and rip rap slopes from the stacked rock wall to the roadway. Removal and replacement of guardrail along the roadway is included as part of this project as well as pavement repair in areas sawcut and utilized for the construction of the slope stabilization. Traffic control, dewatering, and erosion protection measures will be required to complete the project. A Stream Alteration Permit and Town Floodplain Permit have been issued for this project. The project qualifies for Army Corps self-verification under General Permit 9. The project is funded by a Vermont Agency of Transportation Structures Grant and local funding.
