The Division of Public Assistance (DPA) invites the public to comment on the draft model plan for the proposed use of the 2025-2026 federal LIHEAP block grant funds. A copy of the draft plan is attached to this notice. Proposed changes have been highlighted in yellow within the body of the draft plan for easy identification. An accompanying matrix outlining these changes is also attached for reference.This proposed plan describes the procedures used by the Alaska Heating Assistance Program. The plan includes the proposed allocation of funds for heating and weatherization assistance, a description of the method used to determine eligibility, and the proposed benefit rate for the 2025-2026 program year. DPA will accept comments at a public hearing which will be held via Zoom and telephonically on August 6, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM.
