The public is invited to participate in the next Board of Forestry meeting on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, starting at 8:00 a.m. with a public comment period open at 1:00 p.m.The nine-member Board of Forestry advises the Commissioner of the Department of Natural Resources on forestry regulations, provides a forum for those interested in forestry to discuss and seek resolution to issues concerning Alaska’s forest resources, and makes recommendations to the Governor and Legislature on research needs.Topics on the Board's agenda for this meeting include: Forestry and forest practices related legislation and budget updates. State and federal forest management issues, including reports on Mental Health Trust forestry activity, USFS forestry activity, and Division of Forestry & Fire Protection timber sales, forest management plan revisions, and other timber related initiatives. Alaska Lumber Grading Program Update. Public Comment.Other forestry matters may be included on the agenda. The meeting is intended to comply with the requirements of AS 41.17.047(b) and (d).
