Description
The Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) request bids from construction companies ("Contractor") to provide Pump Station 2 Variable Frequency drives (VFDs) upgrade at the Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF). The project includes replacement of sewage pump VFDs, rewinding of sewage pump motors, and electrical distribution system upgrades. Pump Station 2 receives its influent flow from the Oakwood Interceptor and North Interceptor East Arm (NIEA). It has two (2) wet wells with a total of five (5) sluice gates and five (5) stop logs to control the influent flow from its two (2) sources. Wet wells 1 and 2 receive their flow from the Oakwood Interceptor and NIEA, respectively. Pump Station 2 lifts this wastewater up to a level from which eight (8) centrifugal pumps can pump it out of the wet wells and it can flow by gravity through the screening facility. Five (5) of the eight (8) pumps are variable speed pumps with VFDs. The VFDs are used to control the flow of the wastewater to achieve the required amount of flow
