Description
SMART is seeking Proposals from licensed, qualified, and experienced contractors to provide on call track welding and grinding services. These services will be performed in the field and may include frog welding and grinding, switch point welding and grinding, and thermite joint welding. These services will be called upon as-needed through the issuance of task orders for the purpose of maintaining existing infrastructure. Services may be needed anywhere along SMART’s mainline and freight line. Welding to repair or rebuild frogs, switch points, switch point protectors and rails (engine burns, battered ends, etc.) must be in accordance with SMART Specification Section 34 11 16, SMART Specification 34 11 17, AREMA Eng Man, Chapter 5, Part 5, Section 5.10 and AWS D1.1/D1.1M. The Service Provider must hold an active CSLB Contractor's A-General Engineering or C-60-Welding Contractors License that is in good standing and be actively registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR). Additionally, Service Provider will be required to provide a hyrail vehicle to perform work under this contract, as access to most locations where services are to be performed is by hyrail vehicle. This contract has a 3-year initial term with (2) one-year options to extend thereafter. This Agreement may be funded using Federal, State, or Local Funds. Service Provider shall comply with all applicable laws and regulations while performing work under the Agreement
