Notice of Utility Tariff FilingThe REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that Golden Valley Electric Association, Inc. (GVEA) filed TA396-13, seeking Commission approval of a special contract with Usibelli Coal Mine, Inc. (UCM) for power sales (special contract). Under the terms of the special contract, GVEA will not utilize UCM’s mining dragline demand in the calculation of UCM's demand ratchet for the shorter of a) a one-year period of time; b) until the mining dragline is returned to operation; or, c) any earlier termination as permitted under the special contract. If UCM’s mining dragline is relocated, the special contract allows UCM to conduct a partial startup of the dragline for testing and troubleshooting purposes during re-installation without terminating the demand rachet exemption, so long as UCM provides a minimum of ninety days’ notice to GVEA. The effective date of the special contract is December 30, 2025.This notice does not contain all requested revisions and the Commission may approve a rate or classification that varies from those proposed.
