51070 Proposal to Issue a Land Use Permit at the Point Baker SPF

The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities proposes to issue a land use Permit for Lots 1, 2 & 3, Point Baker Seaplane Facility, consisting of approximately 37,950.12 square feet (ADA-51070), for ten years, to expire September 1, 2035. Applicant: Point Baker Trading Post LLC. Authorized uses: Lot 1: Maintenance and operation of a seaplane facility for aeronautical use; Lot 2 & 3: Maintenance and operation of a trading post, lodge and fueling facility, sales of food, lodging and alcohol, public boat/ferry loading, unloading and parking. All docks and walking facilities on DOT&PF land will remain public use. Annual rent: $4,591.97, other associated fees: Concession fees of 6% food & non-alcoholic beverages, 5% lodging, 8% goods/merchandise and 12% alcohol.Competing applications or written comments must be received by 4:30 p.m., January 30, 2026, after which the Department will determine whether or not to execute the Permit. The Department’s decision will be sent only to persons who submit written comment or objection or a competing application to the Department, at the address and by the date and time specified in this notice, and include their return address.
