In coordination with the service district corpsmember development staff (cd), the counselor provides counseling to corpsmembers. Growing from that core element, the on-site counselor provides an expanded array of services such as individual and group counseling, support groups, education and personal development classes/workshops (such as sexual assault prevention), peer leadership development, peer counseling, staff consultation and training, identifying and engaging corpsmembers into the counseling program and referral to community services. In other words, the on-site counselor will work in conjunction with the cd and center staff in developing the overall design of the center on-site counseling program.
