Nampa Vulnerable User Identification and Safety Demonstration System

The City of Nampa (City) invites written proposals to provide a Vulnerable User Identification and Safety (VIS) Demonstration System and to help understand and manage conflicts between motor vehicles and vulnerable road users such as bicyclists and pedestrians. The procurement of the elements of the VIS Demonstration System is part of a larger vision to manage traffic operations and public safety incidents throughout the City and as a technology demonstration for the region’s partner agencies including Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho (COMPASS), Ada County Highway District (ACHD), and Idaho Transportation Department (ITD). Proposers shall submit a proposal of a VIS Demonstration System capable of multimodal detection, processing, signal controller actuation, and analytics. The VIS Demonstration System will be procured as an annual Software-as-a-Service, which includes any necessary hardware and/or software subsystems to meet the System Requirements (Attachment B). The City may select more than one proposer to address some or all of the safety applications described in this RFP.
