NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATIONLAS 35704NEWHALEN LODGESubject to AS 38.05.850, the Southcentral Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:APPLICANT: NEWHALEN LODGEPROJECT NAME: LAS 35704GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Located in the Alagnak River near the outlet of Parutuli Lake, approximately one mile southwest of Kukaklek Lake, approximately 20 miles southeast of Igiugig.LEGAL DESCRIPTION: NW1/4SE1/4 Section 19, Township 12 South, Range 37 West, Seward MeridianREQUESTED ACTIVITY: Applicant Newhalen Lodge is requesting a permit for a seasonal mooring buoy in the Alagnak River near Kukaklek Lake in support of commercial recreational fishing during the months of June through October. The floating buoy would be attached to a 30-pound Danforth anchor and used to moor two 18-foot boats.PROPOSED DATES OF USE: Start: June 2026 End: October 2030DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: October 9, 2025The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southcentral Regional Land Office, 550 W. 7th Ave., Suite 900C, Anchorage, AK 99501-3577 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above.
