The Alaska Department of fish and Game has adopted regulations to Title 5 of the Alaska Administrative Code to establish an educational fishing permit for the harvest of salmon within the Yukon Management Area by Alaska residents for the purposes of teaching and preserving long-established customary and traditional practices, including for ceremonial purposes. The regulations are attached to the bottom of this notice.The Lieutenant Governor signed and filed the regulation on May 16, 2025 and the regulation becomes effective June 15, 2025.The regulations will appear in Register 254, July 2025, of the Alaska Administrative Code.For further questions, please email shellene.hutter@alaska.gov or call 907-465-6124
