PROJECT NAME: Downtown Street Tree & Sidewalk RepairPROJECT NO.: Contract No. #26-002-LPWESTIMATED COST: $350,000 -$420,000 (Incl. Base + Schedule A + Sched B)BIDS DUE: February 3, 2026 by 1:00 PMPublic notice is hereby given that the City of Shelton has issued a Request for Bids for the above-named project, with sealed bids due no later than the date and time given above. Bids received after the time fixed for Bid Opening will not be accepted or considered.This project provides for eliminating current and future cracked and heaving sidewalks, curbs, and gutters on portions of West Cota Street, South 6th Street, South 5th Street, and West Railroad Avenue by: removing existing tree stumps and heaved sidewalk, curb, and gutter; installing replacement trees provided by the City; installing root barrier; replacing sidewalk, curb, gutter, electrical boxes, water valve rings and covers, tree frames and grates; traffic control, erosion prevention, and other work.In order to ensure the scope of work fits within the City’s available funding, bidding and the award decision will be based on “additive bidding” as described in the contract specifications. The additive bidding requires a base bid plus bids for both Schedules A and B.The Contractor will have 40 Working Days to achieve Physical Completion for the Work in the Base Bid, plus an additional 5 Working Days for the Work described in Schedule A if awarded, plus an additional 5 Working days for the Work described in Schedule B, if awarded.A pre-bid meeting is not currently scheduled for this project. The City will not be responsible for unsuccessful submittals of questions.Responses to questions received by the deadline will be distributed to all bidders registered on the project through Builder’s Exchange, as well as posted to the City’s Bidding Opportunities webpage. The City reserves the discretion to group similar questions to provide a single answer or not to respond when the requested information is confidential.
