Description
The primary purpose of the Adult Day Reporting Center program is to enable a local jurisdiction to implement a Day Reporting Center to provide community-based services and treatment to individuals under parole/probation or pretrial supervision in order to reduce recidivism, jail/prison populations, and corrections-related costs. The following entities in Maryland are eligible to submit no more than one application for Adult Day Reporting Center Funding: Local Government Agencies. Adult Day Reporting Centers are highly structured non-residential programs that offer a comprehensive range of services to non-violent adult offenders as an alternative to incarceration. Program participants live at home and report to the center on a regular, often daily basis. While at the center, the participants receive various treatment services including counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy, drug treatment, various reentry services such as educational remediation and job training, and intense levels of supervision. Any individual services provided at an Adult Day Reporting Center should target criminogenic needs such as antisocial thoughts, substance abuse, anger, employment, education, and life skills.
